The easiest way to set up RDNS for a domain is to use Freedns
The first step is to make an account, sign up and then confirm your account.
You can find a list of the many many domains you can use on the registry page. I suggest picking a domain which is marked public and was added some time ago. domains which are new have the possibility of not working or the owner of the domain backing out.
Once youve picked a domain (don't forget there is over 400 pages and a search function), click the domain and follow the next step
Once you've selected your domain you can start filling in the subdomain details, this is what you stick infront of the domain. If I picked "khobbits.co.uk", I might choose "omg.it.is" producing "omg.it.is.khobbits.co.uk"
It is fairly important that you choose "AAAA" in the 'type' drop down box, and that you use the IP designated to you.
Once all details are corret you can attempt to submit, keep in mind that domains have to be unique, it might take a few attempts to find one someone hasn't used before.
If you get a page like the one in the image below, then your role is almost complete.
You need to give the person with access to your RDNS (probably a BNC admin) both the IP and the hostname you picked (a copy and paste of the text in the box works well).
Once the RDNS is confirmed on the admin side, you will just need to reconnect to the server (on sBNC its /sbnc jump).
